PERSONAL HISTORY

B.S. 1979; M.S. 1980; Ph.D. 1984, State University of New York at Stony Brook; Associate Scientist, Brookhaven National Laboratory 1984-1988; Assistant Professor/Associate Physicist, Iowa State University/Ames Laboratory, 1988-1990; Associate Professor/Physicist, Iowa State University/Ames Laboratory, 1990-1994; Professor/Senior Physicist, Iowa State University/Ames Laboratory, 1994-present.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

X-ray and neutron scattering techniques to study the structure and dynamics of condensed matter. Research interests include magnetic x-ray scattering measurements of magnetic phase transitions, the structure and disorder in Icosahedral phase alloys, and the interplay between magnetism and superconductivity in superconductors.
